124 shareholders have raised a further £7,350 for your store

The results are in: share purchases made over the summer mean we have now created a total of 200 shares in Perranwell Community Stores, owned by 124 individuals.

The £7,350 raised in the share issue, combined with the original investment by complimentary shareholders, means we have raised a total of £10,000 for your store.

Thanks once again for your generosity and this very real demonstration of faith in our project.

Perranwell Community Stores is now well-and-truly owned by you, the community it serves.

The share offer closed on October 13 and if you were one of the villagers who purchased or claimed shares, you should by now have received your electronic share ownership certificate. Contact us here if for some reason you haven't.

This money will help us realise our aim of moving the store out of the village hall car park and back into its original location in the heart of the village - something we plan to do early in 2025.

As you can read here, Community Benefit Societies such as ours don't issue annual dividends and we are legally limited to what distributions to shareholders we can make. Our solution is a twice-yearly Prize Draw, with the first scheduled for December, in time for Christmas. The raffle will deliver the following:

• First prize - £150

• Second prize - £75

• Third prize - Hamper (with £50 worth of shop stock)

• Fourth to Sixth prizes - £25 each
